Safety

Do only the safe
          Flowers blossom
Do only the trees
Certain of no chainsaw
          Produce fruit
The bird who knows no cat, snake
The spider who fears no shadow of a bird
The fly which roams freely
          And no silken web entangles
Only the safe have life

Dig deep into the stench of clay
Sweat and muscle ache is what it means
To plant a tree, to seed the ground

The only true life is in cutting
Bleeding on the edge of an act
Sharp and dangerous

Only the well-oiled with wisdom
Know how to handle safely
The blade of time
